  • Computational Geometry for CAD/CAM

Definition of workpiece geometry for computer aided design and manufacturing application is vital. In this research area, geometrical techniques are investigated and developed for manufacturing process modelling and simulation purposes.

  • Heterogenous Object Modeling and Manufacturing

Heterogenous or Functionally Gradient Material (FGM) objects are designed and manufactured to have functional property requirements spatially throughout the object. This enables the object to exhibit different properties at its different features which play a key role behind the object’s performance. With the developed algorithms, heterogenous objects are optimally designed and manufactured using additive manufacturing processes.

  • Path Planning and Optimization

Computational methods are developed for optimum paths under constraints. Optimum paths are developed for Additive Manufacturing and Machining Processes. In Additive Manufacturing, optimum material addition (deposition, scanning etc.) path plans are determined by heuristic based computational algorithms.
